Summary

Wall sound insulation is a multi-layer engineering treatment applied to raise the sound-transmission performance of an existing wall. With vibroacoustic hangers + 60-80 mm rock wool + two layers of acoustic plasterboard at differing thickness + intermediate elastomeric membrane we deliver 18-25 dB additional Rw. In our practice, a 100 mm brick partition rises from 38 to 56 dB.

What is wall sound insulation?

Wall sound insulation is a multi-layer acoustic composite added to one or both faces of an existing partition to reduce sound transmission to neighbouring rooms. By the Mass Law, doubling the structure mass adds about 5-6 dB; correct design lifts that to 18-25 dB.

How is it applied?

  1. Survey and measurement: wall structure, thickness, junctions; existing Rw measured.
  2. Design: composite section calculated for target Rw.
  3. Construction: vibroacoustic hangers fixed to the existing wall.
  4. Fill: 60-80 mm rock wool (min. 70 kg/m³).
  5. Cladding: two layers of acoustic plasterboard at different thicknesses to break resonance.
  6. Intermediate membrane: elastomeric (Tecsound) between the two boards.
  7. Corners and junctions: resilient tape + acoustic mastic.
  8. Final measurement: written report confirming the target Rw.

A single wall (10-15 m²) typically takes 1-2 days. A whole flat 5-8 days. Cost depends on target Rw and existing wall — clear quote after survey.

Wall soundproofing — which materials do you use?
Depending on project requirements, we use acoustic foam, barrier-backed foam, lead/EPDM barrier, elastomeric rubber, rock wool and double-layer plasterboard systems. All our materials carry international fire-resistance certifications.
How much noise reduction do I get after the application?
It varies according to the existing structure, the adjacent noise level and the target use. Typical residential applications achieve 25-40 dB and industrial projects 35-55 dB. The exact value is confirmed by acoustic measurement.
Do I need to move my existing furniture?
It is enough to clear sufficient space so we can work in the application area. Our installation team takes protective measures for furniture; for small applications minimal rearrangement is sufficient.
