Certificates & Standards

International test certificates and approvals for all acoustic products we supply. BS 476, UNI 9175, EN 13501, EN ISO 717 and other standards.

Summary

Acoustic product certificates are international standards that document a material's laboratory-measured performance and fire safety. All products we supply carry certificates such as BS 476 Class 0, EN 13501-1, UNI 9175 Class 1IM, EN ISO 717-1 (Rw), EN ISO 354 (NRC). We do not include uncertified products in our project portfolio.

Why are acoustic certificates important?

Acoustic material cannot be assessed visually. Two panels may look identical; one may deliver NRC 0.85 while the other stays at 0.30. A certificate proves the product was tested in an accredited laboratory under standard conditions and the report was officially published. Without a certificate the rating is "what the manufacturer claims" and has no legal or technical validity.

Which certificates do we look for?

Acoustic performance certificates

  • EN ISO 717-1: Rw (European sound-transmission classification)
  • ASTM E413: STC (American equivalent)
  • EN ISO 717-2: ΔLw (impact-noise reduction)
  • EN ISO 354: NRC / α (sound-absorption coefficient)
  • EN ISO 3382: RT60 and room-acoustic parameters
  • EN ISO 7235: silencer test standard

Fire safety certificates

  • BS 476 Part 6 / Part 7 — Class 0: British standard, surface flame spread
  • EN 13501-1: European fire-behaviour classification
  • UNI 9175 Class 1IM: Italian fire behaviour (especially for Italian-origin products)
  • NF P 92-507 — M1: French fire class
  • DIN 4102 B1: German low-flammable class
  • FMVSS 302: automotive interior

Environmental and health certificates

  • RoHS: hazardous-substances restriction
  • REACH: EU chemical registration
  • Greenguard / Gold: low-VOC emissions
  • FSC: sustainable forest product (for wood panels)
  • LEED-compliant: green-building certification

How to read a certificate

  1. Lab name and accreditation number — must be an internationally accredited body
  2. Full product description — thickness, density, manufacturer, model
  3. Test date — reports older than 2-3 years may be outdated
  4. Single value + octave-band table — not just "Rw 50" but performance across the frequency band
  5. Test method reference — standard name like ISO 10140-2, ASTM E90

Lab vs reality

Certificate values are measured under laboratory conditions. In the field a 5-10 dB drop is normal. Acoustic engineering therefore always builds in a safety margin; if site target is 50 dB, an Rw 55-58 dB certified product is selected.

What if there is no certificate?

If an acoustic product has no certificate there is no formal commitment regarding its performance. A supplier saying "ours is Rw 50" but unable to produce a document may actually deliver 30-35 dB. Uncertified products create issues both at handover and during building inspection.

Dedatek supply policy

In 25 years we have never used an uncertified product in any project. Compliance with at least one of the standards above is our minimum entry requirement. This discipline bridges the commitment made before installation and the performance after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Certificates & Standards products have fire-resistance certificates?
Yes. All our products carry international fire-resistance certificates: BS476:Class 0, UNI 9175:2008 M1 and the Firex fire-resistance certificate. If needed we can share a copy of the certificate for the specific product.
Are custom sizes / colors / thicknesses available?
Yes. Many of our products can be produced with custom cuts, custom colors and the requested thickness. Once you share your project dimensions we get back to you with the most suitable product and specifications.
How are shipping and delivery handled?
In-stock items ship the same day (a dedicated delivery option is also available within Istanbul). For custom-cut orders the preparation time is 2-5 business days; on larger projects we deliver in batches according to the project schedule.
Can we install the product ourselves?
Most of our products are user-friendly for standard applications and ship with an installation guide. For industrial or complex projects we recommend support from our professional installation team.
Are bulk discounts available?
Yes, pricing is tailored to the scope of the project. We offer custom discounts and payment options for high-volume projects. You can reach us via the quote form or by phone.
